Excel or Access?

Should I use Excel or Access for a project – I have about 100 records to deal with.

If you have as few records as these the benefits of using Excel outweigh the problems. You can’t query the data in the same way as Access but in this caseĀ AutoFilter will do the job adequately. If you use Access you will need to have access to someone who has the skills for to use this. Finding someone with Excel skills is easier.

Thanks for your question – Tim.

One Response to Excel or Access?

  1. I used to be very good with Access a few years back. In 2003, I use to have to design databases for my job, but I have left that job and never had to use access again until my Information Class I am taking right now. I found Access is alot different then when I was using it. I am glad I have some experience with using Access other wise I would be totally lost with trying to learn 2007 Access.
